Sweet Hope

I think there is so much hope for the future of American Education, because in my experience teachers have been nothing but sweet, kind, and caring. In addition to this, they also push students to work to the best of their ability.

My son's current teacher is someone who fits in all of those categories. My son can be a lazy student, but his teacher does not allow him to fall behind. She pushes him and holds him accountable. She does this by creating checklists for him, and makes himself check his own work. She does not do this sternly, however. She creates a loving environment for her students. If there are more teachers like this in the world, then the future of American education is going to be just fine!!!

This post is part of the MAT@USC Hope for the holidays event. Did you experience or witness something in 2009 that gave you hope for the future of American education? If so, please see this post for more information on how to share it.
